Update on Nikki♥

So I thought I not bore y’all with my entire last week. So, here are my postings of my workout results… I have not missed a day and my diet is great. I added doing machines and crunches into my cardio walks… and I can actually JOG!!! My longest time straight is 6 mins 🙂 I decided my rest days are Saturday’s since I do a lot more stuff then.

This weekend hubby and I changed the brakes on my car, and went to all you can eat shrimp at Red Lobster. Yes, it was so good! I did eat a lot, but I burned it all off at the gym afterwards.

I need to add more fiber to bust down my belly fat, and consume less sodium.. so that sucks because I have a weakness for flavor like salt lol.












And here is yours truly hard at work LOL!

So I am now going to try to get up early and workout for 30 to 40 mins… we will see if this helps burn the belly fat. says to do it in the morning before you eat so you burn the stored fat…. I will test this idea.

Hello! I didn’t have time to make some eggs again, so I brought left over tuna with a Wasu cracker to help me with the hunger. Idk why but I felt super hungry this morning. I think it’s all the calories I burned working out, and while sleeping. I practically stuffed myself with spaghetti, but they say noodles are easy to burn off. Especially wheat. Well I will keep it short this morning. Have a lot to do! Catch you later.

Dress for my Sister’s Wedding :)

Ok I had to post this because I have been on-line wishlisting for about an hour…. so I love this dress…..

It’s from Macy’s and it’s $109!

I am hoping to fit in a size 10 by then… her wedding is next year. I think in June. So, maybe I’ll be smaller? We will see 🙂


I’m gettin it!

Ok , so now I know! I have to increase the heart rate setting in order to burn more calories!! So, here are my results. Pretty awesome huh? Just imagine climbing a 125 story building stairs… that’s what I just did!!

I have to report on my overall wellbeing. I feel great. I have been weaning myself off of coffee and it feels good. I drink so much water and sweat so much in the gym. Before, when I used to work out, I used to not drink water all the time.. like, I’d go for months on just tea and sodas. I couldn’t break a sweat in the gym. But now I do and I love it! Just sweating out all those toxins.

I made turkey spaghetti tonight with tomato spinach sauce :p came out so good! I made the sauce homemade and idk if there has ever been a thing like it…. but I love it! I like to invent stuff lol… I used basil and oregano leaves (just a dash). I’ll add it to my recipes later. Well I have to go, I am going to do some browsing online for some cute stuff to inspire me.

Mornin’ it’s Monday!

Well today was my weigh-in. This morning actually, they say it’s better to weigh yourself in the morning, after you use the bathroom. Your weight fluctuates throughout the day, so that’s why it’s not good to weight yourself ALL day. Don’t get stuck on the scale numbers… and try not to weigh yourself everyday either. I know I am bad about that, but this week I am going to try to make it until next Monday without checking 🙂 I hate surprises but this is a good one. It’ll teach me self-control.

If you would like to see my results, go check out my Weigh-In page. So I made an awesome dinner last night. Baked chicken with strawberry spinach salad. I made my own vinaigrette…. I used Honey, Chopped red onions, and Apple Cidar vinegar. Let the vinaigrette set for a few hours. Then just slice up the strawberries and throw em on top of the spinach leaves. It’s really good! Oh and add sliced almonds 🙂 Go check out my recipes tab for the full salad steps. Well have a great morning!!

This is burned into my brain. I have been doing so good, I am proud of myself 🙂

Just a typical Saturday…

Well the day started off ok, just woke up and made breakfast. Had eggs with a little shredded cheese. I love eggs. Then started to get ready for his Aunts wedding at her house in Rosenberg, TX. It’s about an hour drive from where we are. It was a nice little wedding, had the Judge marry them there. She started bawling and almost made me cry! lol. We were there about 3 hours and his mom was ready to leave, we parked behind her so I told my husband we should leave too. It was raining and hot, plus I wanted to come work out! No one in his family talks to me, so I always feel very uncomfortable…. idk, I guess they don’t like me. Oh well doesn’t bother me one bit 🙂 You do you and I will live an almost happy life doing me.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO I came home and immediately got dressed to go to the gym. I made him come with me, he didn’t  want to, but I said “so what else are we supposed to do? Be fat on the couch?” He got up then 🙂 Well here are my results for today!

So I did the same entries, but put the speed on 3.2. It lowers the incline the faster you go. So I didn’t climb as many feet today. But I did well!

Ok So I did about the same as yesterday. I’m still happy to burn all these calories!!!! I made baked chicken with green beans and squash sautéed in soy sauce… came out delish! I made a little chart to track my weight loss, I will upload it to “Nifty Ideas” tomorrow. Right now it’s late and I really need to get some sleep…

This is just by increasing the speed to 3.1 from 3.0! If 10ft = 1 story and I climbed 968ft/ 10, then I climbed 96.8 stories in an hour 🙂

Thought I’d post the photo first! I did pretty well today! Increased the speed by .1 and I burned 50 more calories and climbed about 200 more feet!! Yes I am excited lol 😛 As I said yesterday the incline adjusts to keep your heart rate at what you entered. My target heart rate is 153 to start off with. As days go on I will increase my heart rate so the incline will rise and I will burn even MORE calories. My goal is 1000 cal/per hr! It is doable. If you don’t sweat and feel hungry towards the end… you’re not doing it right.

So I made baked chicken and spinach with  chopped up boiled eggs… soo good! I use garlic salt and lemon pepper to season my spinach. It’s canned spinach, Popeye brand. Cooking healthy takes less prep time than cooking fattening. Really! Well excluding frozen food you nuke in the microwave. I try to stay away from heating things in the microwave.

I didn’t do Insanity tonight.. we are going to let my mother-in-law use it (it’s hers anyway) so I can cut down some fat. Like I said earlier, they are very advanced moves and my legs and stomach get in the way! The trainer on there says to keep good form, and I can’t. So I am going to keep walking all month to cut off some fat inches first! By that time she will be through with her first month.

One pound of muscle is visibly SMALLER than the same weight in fat. Not to mention, it’s smoother and more compact compared to the jiggling mass of fat. Which would you prefer hanging off your rear end? Muscle works harder FOR you than fat does. One pound of muscle will burn 50 calories a day, versus fat which only burns 4 calories a day. So the more fat you have, the more YOU have to work to burn calories.

I think I’m on to something…

So it’s almost time to get off and I had a slightly busy day. Just thinking of going walking now. I think I really like blogging 🙂 I hope y’all like reading as much as I like typing HAHA. So this girl at work has been walking a lot and she is the one who really got me motivated again. She is doing a run in New York! I wish I could go but I don’t have $500 right now. Well my husband is a runner, and he leaves me behind when we go to the park, so it kinda sucks going alone. No matter how much I tell myself I don’t need anyone, it’s still always nice to have a buddy there.

One of these days I want to a run somewhere…. not yet though! I need to lose some body weight first so I can actually feel lighter when I jog. It’s harder when you have extra weight holding you back. The same thing for Insanity. It’s super hard to do the workouts if you have big heavy legs and stomach. So I have to do modified moves. If you are really big, I do not suggest Insanity until you drop some weight first. It is not a beginners program! They tell you that on the video disclaimer too. A lot of the moves are very advanced.

My eating has gone great today. Found out that 3,500 calories = 1 pound of fat…. they say in order to lose 1 pound a week to burn 500 more than you eat? Sounds hard!!! So if I eat 1,000 a day, I have to burn 1,500 a day??? Or am I missing something? LOL. here is a good calculator to use.

Well that went well!

Good evening followers of nikki8a 🙂 Hope everyone is having a great night. Well today I got off work a little earlier @3:20pm. Went to Wal-Mart and bought some groceries. Ground turkey, eggs, wheat buns, and milk…. was craving turkey burgers after this morning’s post lol! Well when I got home I put up the food, cleaned up after the dogs (they are pee pad trained) and then made my all natural energy drink. It came with the Insanity program. I waited about 30 mins, at the same time got dressed and then headed to the gym at my apartment. I jumped on the treadmill and chose cardio as my routine, set it at 3.0 and heart rate 154, incline adjusted randomly to keep my heart rate steady. Well here are my results after 1 hour……..

550 Calories, 3.11 Miles, 61.54 mins, 756 feet climbed

This photo was taken after the cool down, I walked a little more after this to make the calorie count an even 550 🙂 GO ME!! I didn’t even feel tired thanks to my drink!!! The only downside I have about working out, is that I have flat feet… so I did some searching around online and found this website: …… They have a list of shoes with ratings. I am definitely going to snag a pair! My poor feet ache after every walk.

When I got back home I did the Insanity, it is cooldown day. So I did 10 mins of it and stopped since it was already going to be 7pm and I still needed to cook dinner. So I did just that. Made turkey burgers. I had one with Nature’s Own Whole Wheat Buns, mustard, 2 slices of romaine lettuce, and a slice of pepper jack cheese, no sides 🙂 mmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm! I split up the rest of the meat for sunday when I make the turkey spaghetti. Tomorrow will be spinach stuffed chicken with steamed white rice!

Ok so I told y’all I would post up a pic of the pants I used to wear and hope to fit back into.. so here they are…..

The ones on the left are an Express brand size 1/2 (I was 19 over 10 years ago) The ones on the right are size 11 no stretch (I was about 21 or 22)

So if you are wondering which ones I want to fit into, it’s the ones on the right 🙂 I got too skinny after high school, partied too much to eat. So that nikki wasn’t real healthy then. But at age 21-24 I was so healthy and looked great! Wasn’t that long ago… but it feels like I’ve been fat my whole life. Here’s a photo of me having a blast at my old apartment for my ex-boyfriends surprise b-day. I think I am a size 8 or 9 here…. MAYBE! I really don’t remember stuff like that, because back then I didn’t care too much. I do know that shirt is a medium from Express (my fave store btw).

I was 21 here? So long ago I don’t remember dates. He was turning 26 and he was born in 1977; I was born in 1982, you do the math I’m tired.

So the Dallas trip is coming up soon and I am so excited! I have most of it planned out, but not really. Hubby and I haven’t been anywhere since we got married over 2 years ago. I mean on any get-a-way type trip. This year will be the first year in 4 years we get a tax return!! So I am planning a cheap vacation for 7 nights somewhere we can drive to. I wanted to do a cruise, but I have my doggies and I don’t trust anyone taking care of them. No one loves them like I do except my husband, he knows how I treat them so I trust him. But he’s coming on vacation with me LOL so that won’t work! So somewhere there’s a Super 8 in the USA. If y’all have any good suggestions please let me know 🙂 I try not to plan too far ahead because something always goes wrong… but what I do know that on Sept. 11th for that night I want to wear this dress I bought at express a long time ago as motivation to fit into it (still haven’t)… Heres another pic for y’all …HAHA!

It’s a size 12 and the bottom is made of denim. It does NOT have an elastic waist, so I have to lose in order to zip it (side zipper). I hate side zippers, those little suckers are even harder to zip!

Well right now I am a 14/16 😦 Do you think I will lose enough in time??? I sure hope so! But if not I will have to wear an alternative until I can wear this dress… It’s not fancy, but I really like it for some reason. Well I am getting sleepy and I need my rest after that work-out.
